Decimal arithmetic practice for children

The Decimals exercise type covers arithmetic with decimal numbers. A learner can practise one operation at a time or answer a random mix of the four.

Answers are entered with a decimal keypad, or selected from multiple options when that answer mode is chosen.

What can be configured

Where decimal practice fits

Decimal arithmetic tends to follow confidence with whole numbers: the operations are familiar, but place value and the position of the decimal point are what a child is really practising.

Because each test is generated from the current settings rather than drawn from a fixed list, the same configuration can be repeated as often as needed without repeating the same questions.

Is decimal practice separate from integer practice?

Yes. Decimals is its own exercise type with its own saved settings, so configuring it does not change the Integers configuration.
